Endress+Hauser recaps successful year in innovation, workforce development and community events
Company celebrates 10th annual Community Career+Education Forum, Design & Innovation Studio engagement and other workforce development initiatives
Endress+Hauser today reflects on significant 2024 milestones and achievements, showcasing the company's commitment to innovation, workforce development and community.
Community Career+Education Forum events
The Community Career+Education Forum (CCEF), hosted by Endress+Hauser, is an annual event aimed at connecting students, parents, educators, counselors and industry professionals. The goal is to raise awareness about technical careers and opportunities, emphasizing the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs.
The CCEF events in Greenwood, Indiana on Sept. 19 and Pearland, Texas on Nov. 7 were successful, with more than 600 attendees in Greenwood and nearly 500 in Pearland. More than $18,000 in STEM grants were awarded to local teachers and $6,000 in grants were given to local robotics teams.
“This year's CCEF was a great opportunity to celebrate 10 years of sharing STEM, trades and manufacturing with our local community,” said Nicole Otte, Director of Workforce Development at Endress+Hauser. “We had great partners from education and industry, and top-notch volunteers that made this CCEF one of the best yet.”
Design & Innovation Studio engagement
In 2024, Endress+Hauser’s Design & Innovation Studio engaged with more than 950 students during scheduled field trips and an additional 350 students at the CCEF event in September, highlighting the company’s dedication to fostering STEM education. The Studio is equipped with Industry 4.0 technology, offering STEM-learning opportunities for K-8 and high school students. Teachers can reserve this space to extend their classroom activities, with all curriculums aligned to Indiana State Standards.
“We’re grateful for another great year at the Design & Innovation Studio and all of the Endress+Hauser volunteers who made it so successful,” said Jerry Spindler, Early Workforce Development Program Manager at Endress+Hauser. “We hope tools like the Design & Innovation Studio and events like CCEF continue to foster a love for all things STEM, and ultimately, introduce future generations to careers in the field.”
Endress+Hauser also benefits from a collaboration with Purdue Indiana Next Generation Manufacturing Competitiveness Center (IN-MaC). In 2024, Endress+Hauser received a micro-grant through the 2024-2025 IN-MaC Micro-Grant Program. The micro-grant recognized Endress+Hauser’s dedication to supporting Indiana’s workforce.
Internship program
In 2024, Endress+Hauser hosted 28 college interns, two college co-ops and six high school interns. Interns and co-op participants were involved in 70-plus projects across 16 departments and four Endress+Hauser entities. Internships may range from sales, service, training and projects/engineering services to marketing, accounting, operations/IT, legal and human resources.
NEXUS program
The NEXUS program at Endress+Hauser is designed to develop essential business skills and provide exposure across various departments and functions. This program is divided into two parts.
The Early Talent Program is a 6-12-month program tailored for new graduates, allowing them to acquire hands-on practical skills, business acumen and insights into operations. While the program is tailored to individual interests and career goals, it is also driven by the company's strategic needs and demands.
Participants engage in diverse assignments and enrichment projects that align with the organization's objectives, ensuring that their learning is both relevant and impactful. The program features a robust support network of mentors, peers and industry experts, fostering continuous learning and career acceleration.
The Mid-Level NEXUS Program is a part of the program designed to develop individuals towards critical mid-level sales roles within the organization. It focuses on equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in these roles, aligning their development with the company's strategic sales objectives.
In 2024, 23 individuals were hired for the early talent part of the NEXUS program, comprising seven business associates and 16 engineering associates. Another 12 individuals entered the mid-NEXUS program.
Apprenticeship program
Endress+Hauser’s Apprenticeship Program combines company-specific knowledge, theory and hands-on learning, resulting in highly trained and adaptable employees. In 2024, the company had 13 apprentices and five graduates. Since 2021, 11 apprentices have graduated from the program.
Furthermore, Endress+Hauser received the 2024 German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC) Apprenticeship Award on Nov. 22, recognizing the company's commitment to the Industry Consortium for Advanced Technical Training (ICATT) and its efforts to cultivate a skilled workforce.
